WBJEE 2021: For the academic session of 2021-22, the Board is going to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture Courses of different Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal. WBJEE 2021
WBJEE 2021 consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for Mathematics and Paper 2 is for Physics and Chemistry. The candidates who qualify for the exam are further required to take part in the counseling process. The qualified candidates can take admission in B. Tech, B.E, B. Pharm, or B. Arch courses in the colleges and universities of West Bengal.

WBJEE 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.
Age Restriction:
- The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as of 31.12.2021. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2004. There is no upper age limit in appearing in the WBJEE 2021.
- However, for admission to the degree level Marine Engineering Course the lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years and the upper age limit is 25 Years.
Educational Qualification
For admission to Engineering courses
- Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
- Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
- Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.
- Candidate must have passed ‘10+2’ examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics /Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks.
- Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g. SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
- Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.
WBJEE 2021 Application Form
The WBJEE 2021 Application will be available as per schedule. The candidate will enter registration details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, identification type, and number. Candidates should enter the data the same as the 10th class admits. Candidates need extra attention at the time of filling the application form. Fees once paid can not be refundable.
Application Fees and Payment Method
- Rs 700 (Rupees Seven hundred only) for General candidates.
- Rs 500 (Rupees Five hundred only) for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B.
- Debit Card/Credit Card/ Net Banking /UPI
How to Apply
There will be two parts of application fill up, one Registration and another is application.
Registration
The candidate will enter registration details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, identification type, and number. Thereafter candidates will enter contact details such as an address, state, district, PIN, email ID, mobile number, and landline number or alternate mobile number, if available.
Then the candidate has to choose a password and security question/answer. At this stage, the candidate can review the registration details and make changes if necessary. The candidate will then be asked to submit the registration details. An application number will be generated and will appear on the screen. Also, SMS/email will be sent to the candidate.
Application
At this stage, the candidate needs to fill up various personal information such as domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income status, religious nationality, etc. If the candidate has also applied for JEE(Main) 2021 he/she needs to enter the JEE(Main) application number.
Thereafter the candidate needs to choose any three zones of examinations in order of his/her choice and submit the application. Now Candidates need to upload the images, signature, and academic documents.
After uploading the documents, candidates need to pay the application fees. On successful completion of all the above steps, a candidate shall automatically be directed to the option for downloading the ‘Confirmation Page’ which means that the application is complete.
Format, storage size, and physical dimension of the images must be as under:

Application Correction
It is not possible to correct any primary registration data i.e. Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s name, gender, and Date of birth of any candidate. If any candidate intends to correct any other information in his/her application, he/she can do so during the given correction window period using the edit mode. The Board cannot entertain any request for any correction under any circumstances beyond the correction window period. Also, the Board will not make any corrections on behalf of any candidate.
WBJEE 2021 Admit Card
Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print. The candidate must carry a printed hard copy of the WBJEE 2021 Admit Card to the examination center.
The Candidates must ensure that the admit card is not mutilated/distorted/ soiled even by accident. Candidates with such mutilated/ distorted/ soiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the examination. Candidates themselves can generate duplicate admit cards but only till the date of examination. Hence, candidates are advised to retain their admit cards carefully in a secure place to avoid any damage to the document.
WBJEE 2021 Exam Pattern
All questions will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ), with four options against each of the questions. There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects. The number of questions, as well as maximum marks for each, are given in the following table:
Scoring Methodology
Category–I:
- a) Only one option is correct.
- b) The correct response will yield a 1 (one) mark.
- c) The incorrect response will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.
- d) For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.
- e) Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.
Category–II:
- a) Only one option is correct.
- b) The correct response will yield 2(two) marks.
- c) The incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
- d) For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
- e) Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.
Category–III:
- a) One or more options may be correct.
- b) Only all Correct responses will yield 2(two) marks.
- c) Any combination of correct and wrong responses will be treated as incorrect and will yield a 0 (zero) mark.
- d) For partially correct responses, marks awarded will be = 2 x (no. of correct options marked÷ total no. of correct options).
- e) Not attempting the question will fetch zero marks.
Allocation of examination center
Allocation of the examination center will be based on the choices given by the candidate during the online form fill-up. However, the discretion of the Board in the allocation of the examination center shall be final. No request for change of allocated center will be entertained under normal circumstances.
Any examination zone may be dropped if adequate numbers of candidates are not available or under any unavoidable circumstance. In such a case, the candidate will be allocated an alternative examination zone.
WBJEE 2021 Answer Keys
The Model Answer Keys will be published at www.wbjeeb.nic.in shortly after the examination. For this purpose, candidates are advised to regularly follow the website after the examination.
Challenges of the model answer keys will be accepted online through the link to be given for the purpose in www.wbjeeb.nic.in on payment of ₹500 per question plus the bank’s service charges. The amount is payable by net banking/debit card/ credit card. The fee once paid is non-refundable.
The Board will review the challenges and publish Final and Frozen Answer Keys. The Board’s decision in this regard will be final and no further communication will be entertained.
WBJEE 2021 Result
The result will be published in the form of a Rank Card, which will contain all relevant ranks, total score, and component scores in paper-I (Mathematics) and paper-II (physics & Chemistry). The Board never publishes the rank list. Candidates can view and download their rank cards by logging in with their passwords.
Duplicate rank cards cannot be generated at any later stage after completion of counseling and admission conducted by the Board. Hence candidates are advised to retain their rank cards carefully in a secure place for all future purposes.
Counseling/seat allotment and admission
A separate notification with details of counseling/seat allotment and admission will be published at www.wbjeeb.in and www.wbjeeb.nic.in shortly after the publication of results. Course-wise and institute-wise availability of seats to be provided by the Competent Authorities will also be published before counseling and allotment.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) was established in 1962 by the Government of West Bengal in the exercise of the powers conferred under Article 162 of the Constitution of India in pursuant to No.
