RRB Group D: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB’s) has released the notification for RRB Group D (RRC CEN 01/2019). The Candidates can view their application status in their respective zones by using their Registration No and Date of Birth. The link was activated from 12.00 hrs from August 17, 2019, to 11.59 hrs on August 23, 2019. Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB’s) released the notification for RRC Group D candidates. RRB has recruit 1,03,769 candidates in RRC Group D Level 1 post. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts this exam to recruit candidates for the post of assistant pointsman, assistant bridge, track maintainer grade IV, etc. The selection of candidates will be based on CBT 1, followed by the physical efficiency test (PET), document verification (DV) and Medical examination (ME).

RRB Group D 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Advertisement No.: RRC CEN 01/2019

Post: Assistant Pointsman, Assistant Bridge, Track Maintainer Grade IV, etc.

Pay Scale: Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, in addition to other allowances admissible at that time.

Nationality: A candidate must be either a citizen of India or the subject of Nepal or the subject of Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came over to India.

Age: Between 18 to 33 years as on 01 July 2019

Qualification: 10th pass (OR) ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT (or) equivalent (OR) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. Also, for detailed eligibility please refer to the notification.

RRB Group D Application Form

RRB released the online application form for RRB Group D(RRC CEN 01/2019). Candidates were able to fill the application from the website of RRBs. Candidate can only apply for one RRB as per their eligibility. Before filling the form, candidates should carefully check their eligibility. Later on, if any candidates found to be not eligible then his candidature may cancel. Also, you should read all the Information and Instructions detailed in the CEN thoroughly before starting the filling up of the application.

For all candidates except the fee concession categories, out of this fee of Rs 500, an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT Rs 500/-
For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ PwBDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward class Rs 250/-

Modes of Payment of Fee

  • ONLINE fee payment through internet banking or debit/credit card or UPI.
  • OFFLINE fee payment through
    (i) SBI Challan Payment mode in any branch of SBI.
    (ii) Post Office Challan Payment mode in any branch of computerized Post Office.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply for the notified posts of anyone Railway only as per their eligibility through the ONLINE application mode by visiting the official website of RRBs. Scanned documents in JPEG format to be kept ready before filling the application. Check Railway wise Vacancies for the qualification and Reservation Category of the candidate.

  • Select the Railway to which you wish to apply. Please be aware that, Railway once selected cannot be changed after the preliminary registration is completed and the Registration number is allotted.
  • Confirm that you have read and understood the instructions clearly by clicking the checkbox. Click on the “New Registration”.
  • Registration Details: Enter your name, Date of Birth, and Father’s name as per Para 1.7 of General Instructions, Mother’s Name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric Registration Number, Year of Passing, Mobile Number and email-ID and then submit for registration.
  • Verification of email ID and mobile number through OTP.

Part-I Registration

In Part, I of the application page, provide the details of Educational Qualification, Community i.e UR/OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, Gender, Religion, Ex-SM, PwBD, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward
Class and Age Relaxation eligibility category as applicable and other details.

Part-II Registration

  • Set priority/preferences for posts: If the candidate is eligible for more than one post based on his/her educational qualification and other details furnished, he/she must set the priority/preferences for these posts.
  • Payment and Bank Account Details: On completion of application details as above, the candidate will be directed to the payment page to choose payment mode i.e. Bank (Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan) or Post Office Challans.\
  • Scribe for PwBD Candidates: Indicate option for scribe if you are a PwBD candidate and eligible for the scribe.
  • Detailed Educational Qualification: Furnish all the relevant information on the qualification as required in the application.
  • Choice of Exam Language: English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected from the drop-down list of languages.
  • Photograph and Signature Upload:  Candidate will be automatically directed to the ‘Photo and Signature Upload’ part of the application.
  • Submission of Application: After confirming the above declaration and submission of the application, the candidate may save the file as “PDF” and/or take print of the application and preserve it for reference and record.

Specification for Signature and Image

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen within a box of size 50mm x 20mm.
  • The signature must be in running hand and NOT in Block/Capital or Disjointed letters.
  • The image should be in JPG/JPEG format scanned with 100 DPI resolution.
  • Dimensions of 50mm x 20mm or 140 x60 pixels (preferred).
  • The size of the file should be between 10KB-40KB.

Application Status for Rejected Candidates

RRB has released the application status for rejected candidates already. Through this link only rejected candidates can correct their signature and photo and raise complain. The link will be active until August 23, 2019.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern

All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test(s) on the specified date(s), time, and venue(s) as per the e-call letter to be downloaded by the candidates from the websites of RRBs/RRCs. The information about the e-call letter download shall be communicated through the websites as well as personal email communication to the candidates.

The exam pattern for CBT of RRB Group D 2019 is as follows:

  • The examination duration will be 120 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied by Scribe.
  • The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.
  • There will be negative marking and 1/3 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
    RRB Group D Question Pattern

Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Three times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this ratio as required to ensure the availability of adequate/reasonable number of candidates for all the notified posts. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The criterion for PET is as under:

Male candidates

  • Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

Female candidates

  • Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one

RRB Group D Call Letter

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB’s) release the RRB Group D Call Letter for every stage of the recruitment process. The admit card releases at the official site and a candidate can download it through their login details. RRB sent SMS or email to all eligible candidates about the e-Call letter. Furthermore, upload details on their registered mobile number as well as email ID. Also, note that RRB does not send the call letter to candidates via post. As soon as candidates download his call letter, he/she should read the instructions on it carefully and follow them carefully. Failure to do may lead to the cancellation of their candidature.

Eligible candidates can download e-Call letter along with Annexure V(D) (declaration for the scribe, wherever applicable) from the RRBs/RRCs websites about 10 days before the date of the CBT/PET/Document Verification (as applicable). A call letter will not be sent to candidates by post.

The Syllabus of RRB Group D is as follows:


Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern, etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities, and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, etc.

General Science

The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences of the 10th standard level (CBSE).

General Awareness

On current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics, and any other subject of importance.

RRB Group D 2019 Result

Firstly, RRB’s releases the result of CBT. The normalized score of CBT used only for shortlisting of candidates for Physically efficiency test (PET). Only after the clear of PET test candidates can be shortlisted for document verification (DV) and medical examination (ME).Candidates can check their result for every stage from RRB’s website.

Recruitment Process

Only a single online application has to be submitted by the candidate to the RRB/RRC of their choice for all the notified posts of that RRB/RRC through the link provided on the official website. The entire recruitment process shall involve Computer Based Test(s), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.

The date, time, and venue for all the activities, namely, CBT, PET, DV, and Medical Examination or any other additional activity as applicable shall be fixed by the RRBs/RRCs and shall be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course. Request for postponement of any of the above activities or for change of venue, date, and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.


Candidates serving (including those undergoing induction training/probation) in any Central/State Government Department including Railways or Public Sector Undertakings may apply directly to the RRBs/RRCs duly informing their Employer. Shortlisted candidates should produce NOC from the employer during document verification, failing which their candidature will be canceled.

Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the RRB/RRC concerned withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their application/candidature will liable to be rejected/canceled.
