Kerala SET 2021: LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Kerala has released the notification of Kerala SET 2021 on April 17, 2021. The online application is available from April 20, 2021, and will be available up to May 20, 2021. The exam date will be available soon. Kerala State Entrance Test (SET) is a state-level exam that is conducted by the Government of Kerala to evaluate and recruit teachers for higher secondary schools and non-vocational teachers in VHSE. Kerala SET

Kerala SET is a test to recruit good teachers to ensure the high standards of teaching in Higher Secondary Course. The government of Kerala has select LBS Center for Science and Technology to organize Kerala SET. The examination of Kerala SET is conducted twice a year. The exam usually takes place in the month of March and September. The exam will be conducted in two stages of individual papers i.e Paper I – General Knowledge and Aptitude and Paper II – Specialized Subjects.

After qualifying for Kerala SET, candidates are awarded a pass certificate. This pass certificate is mandatory for the selection of higher secondary school teachers. With the SET certificate, eligible candidates can apply for non-vocational teachers in Vocational Higher Secondary Education as well.

Kerala SET Eligibility Criteria

It is not compulsory to be a domicile of KERALA to apply for the KERALA SET exam

Age limit

There is no upper age to be eligible for KERALA SET 2021. Applicants of any age can apply to appear in the examination.

Conditions of Eligibility

Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a specific subject with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade. Apart from this, aspirants should have a B.Ed degree from the any university of Kerala or from any other university which is considered to be at par with these universities. However, there are some exceptions to the above-mentioned eligibility criteria for Kerala SET 2021 exam and these exceptions are listed below:

Kerala SET Eligibility Criteria

Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry Have an MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.
Botany and Zoology Have an MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.

Or

Have MSc Ed degree in Life Science with at least 50% marks from any Regional Institutes of Education

Anthropology, Commerce, French, Gandhian Studies, Geology, German, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, and Syriac. Students must acquire a B.Ed. degree as a compulsion.
English Possess II class Master’s Degree in Communicative English with at least 50% marks as well as a BEd degree.
Hindi Students having a master’s degree with subjects as DLEd/LTTC in Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu can apply for the exam without a B.Ed. Degree

The applicant who is in the final year of B.Ed. or Master’s acquiring a minimum marks requirement can also apply for Kerala SET 2020 exam. However, he would have to submit the qualifying examination documents within one year from the release of the result, failing which, will result in disqualification.

Kerala SET 2021: Marks Relaxation for SC/ST

Such Applicants can get 5% marks relaxation in the minimum marks they need to possess in their qualifying exam in order to be eligible to appear for SET.

Kerala SET 2021 Application Form

The Kerala SET application form is available online and candidates can apply through the official website (lbscentre.kerala.gov.in). The candidates need to register first for the Kerala State Eligibility Test using their mobile number.

Aspirants need to fill their Personal Details According to the Given format along with Choice of the center, Choice of program, Percentage marks Should maintain the Given criteria as mentioned above. A Scanned Copy of the Passport Size photo and Signature on the Blank page should be uploaded at the time of form filling.

One should be very careful while filling the applications, once submitted cannot be changed later.

Note: Candidate should note down and remember their E-mail ID and Password till the announcement of the final results of Kerala SET 2021

Things to Remember before Apply

Candidate’s Photograph: Before proceeding to apply, Candidates must have scanned passport size photo in JPEG format (10 kb to 100 kb). The same photograph is used for pasting on the Attendance Sheet at the examination center.

Candidate’s Signature: Scan the Signature and maintain the size between 5 kb to 30kb. The candidates are required to upload the full signature in running handwriting. Writing full name is not accepted as a signature and the Application Form can get rejected. Further, unsigned Online Application Forms will also be rejected.

Candidate’s Name / Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name: Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name Must be the same as given in the Secondary School Examination in Capital letters.

Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy): Candidate’s date of birth should match with Secondary School Examination Certificate.

Mobile Number and e-mail Address: Candidates must provide their own Mobile Number and e-mail address.

Examination Fee

  1. For General category  Rs. 1000/-
  2. SC/ST/VH/PH  Rs. 500/-

Mode of Payment: You have to make the payment of the application fee through the online mode with the option of Credit/debit card/Net banking or some other modes.

Fee submitted by any other mode like Money Order /Demand Draft/IPO etc., will NOT be accepted. And it will NOT refund under any circumstances.

Kerala SET Exam 2021 Admit Card

Admit card will be available as per schedule. The aspirants can download admit cards through our important link section above. Only Candidates who submitted their online applications, get admit cards that mention the date, time, and examination center. Kerala SET Exam 2021 admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall. The candidates must carry a photo identity along with the printed admit card issued by the Kerala SET authority.

  • Click on the “Download Admit Card” option.
  • Enter the Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key.

Kerala SET Exam Pattern

Language: The question paper is set in English. (Or in a specific language for Language Test).

Exam mode: The examination is conducted offline in OMR sheets.

Sections: There are 2 sections of the examination, Paper I, II.

Duration of Test:  120 minutes for each paper.

The number of questions: There shall be 120 questions for Paper I with 60 questions each for Part A and Part B. Each question shall carry one mark.

There shall be 120 questions carrying one mark each for the subjects under Paper II except for Mathematics and
Statistics. For Mathematics and Statistics, there shall be only 80 questions carrying 1.5 marks each

Type of questions: All questions are of the MCQ type.

The test will be consisting of two papers. Which will consist of only Objective type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)

Paper-I: Paper I is common for all candidates. It consists of two parts, Part (A) General Knowledge and Part (B) Aptitude in Teaching.

Paper-II: Paper-II is based on the subject of specialization of the candidate at the Post Graduate (PG) Level.

Qualifying criteria for Kerala SET 

Follow these steps for considering a candidate for eligibility for Assistant Professors.

Step 1:

the candidates are required to obtain a minimum percentage of all two papers i.e. Paper -I, Paper-II for eligibility of Assistant Professor as given below:

Note:  OBC and SC/ST candidates availing this concession should submit non-creamy layer/Caste/Community certificates from authorities of  Kerala. In the absence of the above valid certificate, the mark concession will not be given.

Syllabus

One must first be well aware of the KERALA SET  syllabus before starting preparations. A syllabus is a course-planning tool. It helps the Candidate prepare and organizes the course. It describes the course goals; explains the course structure and assignments, exams, review sessions, and other activities required for students to learn the material.

Change of Centre is not allowed under any circumstances. The Venue will allot by the Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.

KERALA SET 2021 Answer Keys

The answer keys of all subjects will publish on the official websites of the LBS Centre immediately after the examination. Complaints, if any, regarding the answer keys may be sent to the Director, LBS Centre, in writing, within five calendar days from the date of publication of the keys.

The complaint should be accompanied by a DD for 300/- for each question challenged by the candidates. The DD should be drawn from any branch of a nationalized bank in favor of the Director, LBS Centre payable at Thiruvananthapuram. If the complaint/complaints regarding a question or questions is/are found genuine, the fee remitted for that question/questions will be refunded.

Complaints Without DD of `300/-  or after 5 days from the release of the answer key will not be entertained.

Kerala SET Results

The details of marks and the eligibility status will publish on the website of LBS Centre, lbscentre.kerala.gov.in. The candidates who enrolled are able to check the result. The qualifiers are awarded by the eligibility certificate. The result is published online and the candidates can check the result by entering their roll number.

Candidates who apply for the SET certificate have to produce certificates within a period of one year from the declaration of the result. After a year, candidates have to pay late fees of Rs.500 and an additional Rs.250 for each subsequent year passing.

Kerala SET Document Verification

As mentioned above, Kerala SET qualified candidates to have to appear for the document verification round. Here is the list of documents that candidates require for the verification round.

  • SET 2021 application form downloaded from the official website.
  • Following documents must be signed by Gazetted officer
    1. Provisional/Original Certificate and Marksheet/Grade Sheet of PG Degree.
    2. Provisional/Original Certificate of B.Ed Degree.
  • Equivalency and recognition certificate from any one of the Universities in Kerala, if applicable.
    If candidates possess qualification other than mentioned, he/she have to produce equivalency certificate from anyone university in Kerala.
  • Original Caste/Category certificate (valid during the online registration of SET-July-2021) of the candidate who is eligible for a relaxation of minimum marks for a pass.

Where to send these documents?

Candidates have to send all the Mentioned documents to the Director, LBS Centre, Nandavanam, Thiruvananthapuram.

Issue of Duplicate Certificates

To get a duplicate certificate, A Demand Draft for Rs 1000 (Rupees one thousand only) in favour of the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

An affidavit in stamp paper of Rs 100 to the effect that the SET Certificate earlier issued to the candidate has been lost. With this send duly attested by a Notary Public/First Class Judicial Magistrate and other relevant certificates.
