KEAM 2021

The Commissioner for Entrance Exam  (CEE) will conduct a competitive examination for admission to all the courses of Engineering, Architecture, B. Pharm, MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Unani, Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, and Fisheries. Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) is a state-level exam. Architecture and medical admission in the state of Kerela are done based on NATA and NEET scores, respectively. For all other subjects, candidates have to appear in KEAM 2021. KEAM 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of KEAM 2021 is given below:

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian. Candidates seeking admission to Professional courses will be categorized as Keralite, NonKeralite Category I (NK I), and Non-Keralite Category II (NK II).

Education Qualification:

  • Engineering courses – Candidates must have completed 10+2 with 45% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Biotechnology
  • B.Sc.(Hons.)Agri, B.Sc.(Hons) Foresty, BFSc courses – Candidates must have passed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • BVSc. & AH Course – The minimum marks required for admission shall be 5% less than that prescribed for the general category. For candidates belonging to SC/ST, a minimum pass mark is required.
  • B.Sc. Degree holders – Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biotechnology as Main.
  • For B.Arch – Candidates have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as a subject OR 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics.
  • Medical & Allied Courses (For MBBS, BDS, BSMS) – Candidates must have completed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and in separate subjects.

Subject Consideration:

  • In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered.
  • The candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered.
  • In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered.
  • The marks as shown in the mark list obtained from the Board of Examination of respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

Note:

  • It is mandatory to have NEET-UG 2021 scores to apply for admission to medical courses, agriculture, forestry, veterinary, and fisheries courses
  • It is mandatory to have NATA 2021 scores to apply for architecture courses.

Description Of Codes

KEAM 2021 Application Form

The CEE releases application form and Prospectus will be available online on the official website only. It will not be available in hard copy. Candidates have to apply online at http://www.kiitee.ac.in or http://www.kiit.ac.in or they can download it from the website. Candidate must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are his/ her own as all information /communication will be sent by KIIT on the e-mail address or SMS on given Mobile Number only. The candidates are advised to retain the same mobile number and e-mail-id in use which they have furnished in the application form because the important information may be given to the candidates through SMS or e-mail. Do not send the printout of the confirmation page or other documents to the office of the CEE.

Mode of Payment

  • Online Payment: Candidates have to pay their application fee online with the help of the Net-banking or Credit/ Debit card of any bank. Bank charges as per bank rules have to be paid by the candidate Only. The application fee will be refunded in seven bank working days through the same payment gateway only in the case of Server Down.
  • E-challan: In case of payment through e-challan, the payment can be made in one of the Head /Sub Post Offices in Kerala, in cash. The e-challan generated from the website after online submission of the application should be handed over to the post office and after depositing the fee plus processing charge, as applicable, the Candidate’s copy of the e-challan must be collected back from the post office official. It must be ensured that the post office official has recorded the Payment ID about the payment on the counterfoil and put the official stamp and his/her initials at the designated places on the candidate’s copy.

How to Apply

There are five steps for the online submission of the application and all the steps are mandatory. Candidates should complete all steps including uploading the necessary certificates and documents on or before the last date notified for the same. The candidate has to visit the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in where he/she can find the link “KEAM-2021 Online Application.

First step: Regestration

This is a one-time procedure. During the process, candidates will get a system-generated Application Number. Candidates are requested to enter their password when demanded. Preferably a strong password is recommended. It ensures the candidates’ safe online activities. The requirements of a strong password are:

  • A minimum length of 8 characters a minimum of one alphabet character [a-z or A-Z].
  • One number (0-9).
  • A minimum of one symbol [! @ # $ % ^ & * ].
  • The candidate has to re-enter the password for confirmation.

Second Step: Fill Application

  • All the basic information, required by the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is to be filled in at this step.
  • Before filling in the details, read the Prospectus carefully.

Third Step: Application Fee

  • The candidate has to make the payment of the application fee by way of Online Payment or by way of e-chalan.

Fourth Step: Upload Images & Certificates

  • A recent passport size photograph of the candidate and signature of the candidate, all in jpeg format of given specifications are to be uploaded.
  • Besides, all the certificates and documents in support of the various claims made in the applications should be uploaded. Nativity proof and proof for date of birth are mandatory.

Fifth Step: Print Confirmation Page:

  • After completing step four, the Candidate should take a printout of the confirmation page from the online application for future references.

Mode of Admission

  • Admission to all the courses will be only through KEAM – 2021

  • Admission to MBBS & B. Arch Courses will be only through NEET – 2021 and NATA 2021 respectively.

KEAM 2021 Admit Card

The Admit Card for the Entrance Examination can be downloaded from the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The candidates will have to enter their Application Number and password provided to download the admit card. All candidates whose application has been accepted should download the admit card well in advance They will have to take a printout of the admit card. Admit cards will not be sent by post from the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The venue of the examination and time table will be noted in the admit card. Separate notification in this regard will be issued. A candidate who does not possess the Admit Card will not be admitted to the Examination Hall under any circumstances.

KEAM Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of KEAM 2021 is given below:

  • Mode of Exam: Pen and Paper, OMR-based Exam.
  • Type of questions: All questions in the exam is of MCQ type
  • Number of papers: There are 2 papers in the exam (Physics & Chemistry and Mathematics)
  • Papers for the Engineering Entrance Examination: Paper I – Physics & Chemistry Paper II – Mathematics.
  • Time Duration: Each Paper will have  2hr 30 min or 150 minutes or two and a half hours.
  • Total number of questions: In each of the paper there are 120 questions
  • Marking scheme: The marking scheme is +4 for correct answers.
  • Negative Marking: There will be -1 marks for Each wrong Answers.
  • The distribution of marks in Paper 1 and 2 is given below:

Note: A candidate not appearing in any one of the papers, for admission is disqualified and is not considered for the ranking. In other words, appearance in the two relevant papers: Paper I – Physics & Chemistry and Paper-II – Mathematics, is compulsory for being considered in the rank list.

Guidelines for the Pen and Paper-based exam KEAM 2021 are as follows:

  1. Candidates should bring Admit card, a ballpoint pen (either blue or black ink), and a cardboard/clipboard for the Examination.
  2. Candidates will not take items such as pencil, eraser, correction fluid, calculator, logarithm table, electronic gadgets, mobile phones, etc. into the examination hall.
  3. The candidate should be present at the examination hall, 30 minutes before the prescribed time for the commencement of the examination.
  4. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall, 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination.
  5. Candidates will be permitted to leave the examination hall only after completion of the examination.

KEAM Admission Procedure

Admission is not all courses are based on the KEAM 2021 entrance exam. Here is a segregation of the admission channels in KEAM 2021 for you. For all the categories described above, the filling of the KEAM 2021 application form is mandatory. The admission for categories 2 and 3 is via the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) based on NATA and NEET marks. For category 1 the admission is via CAP too but based on KEAM 2021 entrance exam scores and 10+2 marks.

KEAM 2021 Reservation of Seats

The KEAM 2021 Quota Seats are distributed among different categories of candidates as follows. A separate merit list will be prepared for each Category:

  • State Merit (SM) – 60%
  • Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) – 30%
  • Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribe – 10%
  • (SC) Scheduled Castes  – 08%
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST) – 02%

KEAM 2021 Result

The KEAM 2021 scores are released first under the login of the candidates. The candidates can check their scores using the application number and date of birth. The candidates who are selected as per the scores are required to submit their 10+2 marks next.

Preparation of rank list for admission into Engineering

KEAM 2021 entrance exam score + class 12 marks. It prepared by giving equal weightage to the marks obtained in the KEAM 2021 engineering entrance exam, and the aggregate marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology in class 12.

Preparation of rank list for admission into B.Arch

The candidates are selected based on the marks in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and also giving certain weightage to the marks obtained in class 12.

Here is how the list is prepared

The marks of NATA out of 200 are added with the marks of class 12. The marks of class 12 will be computed down to 200. Therefore for the final list preparation, the score will b considered out of 400 marks.

Preparation of rank list for admission into MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BSMS/BUMS, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry, and Fisheries, Ayurveda

The rank list is prepared based on rank obtained in NEET-UG 2021 subject to the nativity conditions and also subject to the qualifying criteria.

Preparation of rank list for admission into B.Pharm

The rank list for the B.Pharm course is prepared based on index marks calculated as follows:

The score obtained in Chemistry from the Paper-I is multiplied by 2.25. Then it is added to the Physics score obtained from Paper-I. The total score obtained is then multiplied by a factor of 2/3 to calculate the index mark for ranking the candidates for the B.Pharm course. The maximum index score is 480.

KEAM 2021 Counselling

The candidates who get selected in the merit list of KEAM 2021 have to appear for online KEAM 2021 counseling. The allotment of seats in KEAM is done via the centralized allotments process (CAP). Candidates have to first fill in the online choices of colleges/ courses. After that, based on the score in the entrance exam (KEAM/ NATA/ NEET) and the choices filled, candidates will be allotted seats.

The first allotment result will be displayed online. Candidates who have allotted seats have to download their memo, which carries their name, roll number, allotted course, and college. Selected candidates will have to reach at the allotted colleges along with documents for verification and admission fees. Same the second round will be held for the other seats and the leftover candidates.

The Commissionerate of Entrance Examinations (CEE) conducts entrance examinations or allotment processes for admission to professional courses every year like Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Degree (KEAM). The allotments are made through a Single Window System of the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). The body is responsible for allotments of seats and conduction of the exam. Also, it is responsible to release the admit card, answer keys, and the result of the entrance examination.

Question: What is the AGE requirement to apply for KEAM Entrance Examination this year?

Answer: The candidate should have completed 17 years of age. There is no upper age limit for applying for KEAM. Age criteria for medical aspirants, refer to NEET UG-2021 Information Bulletin.


Question: How long does it take to get a One Time Password (OTP) during KEAM registration?

Answer: Normally, OTP will be sent instantly to your mobile number registered with KEAM. A candidate is to wait a maximum of 10 minutes to get OTP.


Question: I forgot to note down my Application number during the Candidate registration process. How can I get the application number?

Answer: Using the menu `Forgot Application Number` on the Home page, you can get your application number. Name, Date of Birth and KEAM registered mobile number should be provided for getting the application number. Normally, the application number will be sent to the registered mobile while completing the KEAM Registration step.


Question: How do I get certain Proforma (example, Ex-servicemen certificate, etc.) before filling up an online application?

Answer:  before the fill-up application, the candidate should obtain all the necessary certificates. You can download certain proforma from your home page after logging on to the application portal. But you have to complete the ‘Registration’ (Step 1) for entering into the home page, use the link ‘Download Proforma’.

Answer: In such a case, the candidate shall directly contact the conducting body, CEE on an immediate basis.


Question: When I tried to download my Admit Card, a Memo was appearing on the screen instead. What should I do?

Answer: The memo appears on the screen when there is a defect in the certificates uploaded in the application form. The candidates first have to eradicate that defect and then the admit card will be available for download. Necessary documents for correcting the defects should be sent to the CEE office on or before the specified date along with the Printout of the Memo sheet


Question: Is there any dress code for KEAM?

Answer: No, there is no dress code. However, the candidate must make sure that they wear clean, tidy, and decent clothes. No accessories and heavy makeup shall be worn by students.

If there is still a tie, a candidate with higher marks in Mathematics of the final year of the qualifying examination will be placed higher in the ranking. In this case, if the tie persists, a candidate with higher marks in Physics of the final year of the qualifying examination will be placed higher in the ranking. If there is still a tie, the age of the candidate will be taken into account and the elder will be placed higher in the ranking.


Question: What is the rank list?

Answer: Rank list or merit list contains the rank of the candidate as per their scores. Only those whose name is there in the rank list are eligible to apply for further admission process.


Question: What happens after the result?

Answer: Candidates who qualify for the exam and whose name is there in the merit list are called for the counseling/seat allotment after the release of the result.
