HTET 2020

HTET will be conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana for the recruitment of Primary Teacher (PRT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) as per vacancies. The selection of the candidates will be done through the Conventional Type (Pen Paper Based). HTET is a State Level exam. Candidates from another state can also appear for this HTET exam.

HTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the HTET 2020 is as follows:
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age: There is no age limit prescribed for candidates appearing in HTET.

Educational Qualifications

All individuals who possess minimum educational qualifications etc. as delineated in the service rules relating to the teachers of all the three levels (available on the website of the School Education Department, Haryana (www.schooleducationharyana.gov.in) and also in these guidelines are eligible for the test (HTET) which will be conducted for the following three levels :

i) who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.

ii) who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT — Trained Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.

iii) who intends to be a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  After qualifying “HTET” the candidates will acquire the eligibility in respect of having qualified “HTET”. However, such HTET qualified candidates will need to satisfy all eligibility requirements as per Service Rules in order to become qualified for getting recruited as a teacher of respective level in any of the schools specified under clause 3 as per the qualifying condition laid down by prospective employers.

Primary Teacher (PRT)
 All Subjects
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and Passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. or Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed Or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
TGT Social Science
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.Sc. or B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and I-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
  • In case of B.Sc., a combination of at least three subjects out of the following:- (1) Physics (2) Chemistry (3) Botany (4) Zoology (5) Mathematics
TGT Science
  • B. Sc. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and I-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
TGT Mathematics
  • B.A./B.Sc./B.Com with at least 50% marks in Mathematics as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.A./B.Sc. /’B.Com with at least 50% marks as well as in Mathematics as an elective subject and I-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.)
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.
TGT English
  • B.A with at least 50% marks in English as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.)
  • In the case of B.Ed, English as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.
TGT Hindi
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Hindi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Hindi as an elective subject and I-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.).
  • Hindi as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2(B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.
TGT Sanskrit
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Sanskrit as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Sanskrit as an elective subject and I-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed. ) or Shastri with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and Shiksha Shastri/ Language Teachers Course (L.T.C)/ Oriental Training (O. T.) in Sanskrit conducted by the Haryana Government.
  • In the case of B.Ed., Sanskrit as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2!B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subjects.
TGT Punjabi
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Punjabi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Punjabi as an elective subject and I-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
TGT Urdu
  • B.A. with at least 50% marks in Urdu as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.A. with at least 50% marks as well as in Urdu as an elective subject and I-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
TGT Physical Education
  • Graduate with Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.).
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.
TGT Home Science
  • B.Sc. Home Science and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or B.Sc. Home Science with at least 50% marks and I-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.)
  • In case of B.A at least 50% marks in Home Science as one of the elective subject.
  • In the case of B.Ed., Home Science as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi! Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject. TGT Art B.F.A./B.A. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

  • Matric with Hindi!Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Mathematics
  • B.Ed and M.A./M.Sc. Math/Applied Mathematics with Mathematics as one of the subject at Graduation level with at least 50% marks from a recognized university and B.Ed. from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Commerce
  • B.Ed and M.Com. with accounting/Cost accounting/financial accounting as a major subject of study with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university. Holders of a degree of M.Com. in applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Economics
  • B.Ed and M.A. in Economics/Applied Economics/Bussines Economics with at least 50% marks.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Fine Arts
  • B.Ed and M.A. Fine Arts with at least 50%  marks.
  • Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Computer Science
  • M.Sc. Computer Science (Regular two-year course) / MCA (Regular three year course) / BE/B.Tech. Computer Science / Computer Engg. / IT (Regular course) with aggregate marks from a recognized university
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject. Consistent good academic record.
PGT Physical Education
  • M.A. Physical Education or M.P.Ed. with at least 50% marks, and Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.)
  • Matric with Hindi / Sanskrit or 10+2/B.A./M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject. Consistent good academic record.

Application Form

The application form for HTET 2020 has been released on the official website as per the schedule. However, applications received without the prescribed fee were not be considered and summarily rejected. And, no representation against such rejection was entertained. Fee once paid was not refunded under any circumstances nor it was adjusted against any other examination or selection.

  • Please read the INFORMATION BULLETIN of HTET-2020 carefully before start filling the online application form.
  • Candidates can apply for HTET 2020 ‘ON-LINE’ through HTET website htetonline.com
  • Submitting Identification Proof & NUMBER is mandatory while applying for Online application.
  • The application for HTET 2020 has been made completely online with the facility to upload the latest photograph, thumb impression, and signature of the applicant. The particulars will be filled online and the scanned images of the latest colored photograph, thumb impression, and signature (in JPG format only) will be uploaded at the time of filling the application form. The candidates are advised to keep the scanned images of the latest colored photograph, thumb impression, and signature ready in JPG format before applying online.
  • The scanned image of the latest photograph is required to upload to avoid the inconvenience at the center, as this photograph will be matched with the actual candidate appearing in the examination.
    • Size -Thumb impression – 10kb to 30 kb.
    • Signature ( Size)  – 10 kb to 20 kb.
    • Size – Photo  – 20kb to 50 kb.
    • (Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 c.m. (width) x 4.5 c.m. (height) only.)

HTET 2020 Admit Card

Admit Card will not be sent by post. Candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website as per the schedule. Candidates must check that all the details mentioned in the admit card are correct, and in case of any discrepancy contact the officials as soon as possible. It must be remembered that it is necessary to bring the HTET 2020 Admit Card at the exam center on the day of the exam.

The examination pattern for HTET 2020 is provided below:
Duration of examination: The test duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.
Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking
Qualifying Marks:

  • All Categories except for Scheduled Castes and differently-abled/Physically Challenged – 60% (90 Marks)
  • Scheduled Castes and Differently abled/Physically Challenged of Haryana Domicile – 55% (82 Marks)
  • For Scheduled Castes and Differently abled/Physically Challenged of Other State – 60% (90 Marks)

Level – I – For becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Teacher (PRT)

There shall be only one paper. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
