BITSAT 2021:  The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani has released the BITSAT 2021 notification on the official website. The online application was available up to July 07, 2021. BITSAT is a Computer-based online test for Admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programs of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2021-22 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani. BITSAT Eligibility Criteria

  • For admission to any of the First Degree Programs of BITS except B. Pharm: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or it’s equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and adequate proficiency in English.
  • For admission to B. Pharm: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or it’s equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for the Pharmacy program.
  • Admissions to all the programs are subject to the conditions given below:
    The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects.

Direct Admission to Board Toppers

In the past, the admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input of highly meritorious students from all over India. First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2021 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT 2021 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Further details about this scheme will be available at the BITS admission website by May 2020.

BITSAT 2021 Application Form

Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT 2021 by applying in the prescribed application form online. The password that a candidate enters (8 alphanumeric characters) during the BITSAT registration process will be required for further access including writing the BITSAT. Hence, a candidate should keep it confidential. A candidate has to complete the application form online at and pay the prescribed fees. Also, take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference.

Application Fees

Application Fees of BITSAT 2021 is as follows :

  • The prescribed fee for BITSAT 2021 is Rs. 3400/- (three thousand one hundred fifty) for male candidates and Rs. 2900/- (two thousand six hundred fifty) for female candidates.
  • If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the application fee for both male and female candidates will be the same and will be Rs. 7000. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

BITSAT 2021 Admit Card

Admit Card to write the examination is generated only to those eligible candidates who have submitted their application form complete in all respects, on or before the last date specified. Photographs and signature images shall be uploaded on or before the last date.

  • Admit Card will not be sent by post.
  • Candidates can download the Admit Card by logging into their registered account using their registered Email ID / Application Number and Date of Birth.
  • The candidate will not be permitted to appear for the entrance examination without a valid Admit Card. In the examination hall, the candidate should produce his/her Admit Card when demanded by the invigilator.
  • Admit Card is an important document and must be kept safe till the admission process is over.

BITSAT 2021 Exam Pattern

BITSAT 2021 will be of a total 3-hour duration (without break) online test. The test consists of four parts:

First Part: Physics
Second Part: Chemistry
Third Part: English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.
Fourth Part: Mathematics or Biology (For B. Pharm candidates).

  • There will be 150 questions in all.
  • All questions are of objective type (multiple-choice questions). Each question with a choice of four answers, only one being the correct choice.
  • Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark).
  • There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 150 questions.
  • If a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only; four questions from each part. Further, once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he/she cannot go back for the correction of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

BITSAT Score Report

At the completion of the test, the computer will announce the result to the candidate in terms of the number of total correct answers and wrong answers, with the score. The candidate can also check his or her score report at the BITS admission website on the next day of his or her test date. The candidate can also take a printout of his or her score report for any further usage. No student will be allowed to repeat the test in the same year.

Admission Procedure

As explained earlier, a candidate who appears in BITSAT 2021 is eligible for admission only if he/she gets the required minimum marks in the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects of the 12th examination as per the eligibility criteria described already. All candidates who appear in BITSAT-2021 and are interested in admission will be required to submit an Admission application form with 12th marks and preferences to different degree programs
offered at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. Admission decisions (Iteration 1 results) will be announced on June 2021. Further details about different iterations will be announced on the admission website.

Question. I am unable to access the Online application. Can you send the application form by email or post?

Answer: The application cannot be sent by email/post. If you get any specific error while applying, please send an email to for help with details and queries will also be answered by the phone numbers: +91-7349470595 and +91- 9148237202 from Monday to Friday 9.00 AM till 6.00 PM.

Question. I have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2. Am I Eligible to Apply for BITSAT 2021?

Answer: Candidates can write BITSAT 2019 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2. However, they will be eligible to apply only for the B. Pharm program. They will not be eligible for any other first-degree program at the Institute.

Question. I have completed the online application. But, I have not taken a printout. How can I get a printout now?

Answer: You can go to the applying online page again and enter the personal details AND the application number. You will be taken to the printout page again.

Question. I have made multiple payments for a single application because of connection errors. How will I get back my extra amount?

Answer:  You have made multiple payments towards the BITSAT 2021 application fee for an application, Institute will refund the extra amount during March 2021.

Question. I have made a mistake while entering some data in my application form. How can I edit/correct it?

Answer: The link for editing the application form will be made available on the website. No email queries will be entertained in this regard.

Question. My 12th exam results are not expected before BITSAT 2021. Should I apply?

Answer: For admissions to 1st semester 2021-22 starting in August, you should have your result before June 2021. Keeping that in mind, you may appear in BITSAT 2021.

Question. I passed 12th in 2018. I didn’t get 75% aggregate in PCM. Am I eligible if I repeat some of the subjects to get the required 75% marks?

Answer: If you are repeating the 12th exam, you should do it for all the subjects to pass 12th again as mentioned in the BITSAT brochure. If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only, you are not eligible.

Question. What are the tuition and other fees and expenses?

Answer: The details will be available on the BITS admission website by May 2021.

Question. I passed the 12th exam in 2020. Am I eligible to appear for BITSAT 2021?

Answer: As advertised, you are eligible to Apply for BITSAT 2021.

Question. I had appeared in BITSAT 2020 but my marks were below the cut-off marks. Can I appear in BITSAT 2021?

Answer: Yes, as advertised. Subject to eligibility conditions you can apply again for BITSAT-2021.

Question. What is the application procedure for NRIs?

Answer: There is no separate procedure for NRIs. However, those candidates who have citizenship other than INDIA can apply under the International student’s admissions scheme.

Question. What is the application procedure for candidates with foreign qualifications?

Answer: There is no separate procedure for those candidates who wish to be admitted through BITSAT. They have to apply similar to Indian students and to provide an equivalence certificate from AIU at the time of applying for Admissions later.

Question. How am I Eligible for admission to M.Sc. programs after the 12th?

Answer: The M.Sc. programs are 4-year integrated programs after 12th. There is no intermediate B.Sc. degree awarded.

Question. I have passed 12th in the year 2019 (or earlier). I am now doing my higher studies ( B.Sc. / B.E. / Diploma) in another college. Can I apply for BITSAT 2021?

Answer: You are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT 2021.
